A BID for the Las Vegas Arts District
What is a Business Improvement District (BID)?
A BID is a locally governed special district that provides enhanced services and investments, beyond what the city provides. It is created through a petition process, formed by City Council ordinance, and governed by district stakeholders. All funds stay in the district.
BID Boundaries
The LV Arts District BID will encompass the area bounded roughly by:
E Bonneville Avenue to the north;
Parcels fronting Las Vegas Blvd. on the eastern side;
W Wyoming Avenue to the south; and
The railroad tracks to the west.
Forming the District
This site provides detailed information about the BID formation effort. Establishing the district requires the following steps:
Obtaining petition signatures from property owners within the district boundaries who represent more than 50% of the total assessed value of the district; and
City Council Public Hearing and approval.
Once formed, the BID will be governed by a board of property owners, business owners and residents who MUST BE stakeholders within the district boundaries. All of the money generated in the BID comes back to support the Las Vegas Arts District
